I really did well with finding good sales last week...especially with Naughty Monkey. I was able to grab these for under $14!!!! I was on the fence with these when they dropped down to under $50, but when I saw them for $13.85...hitting "add to cart" became instinct.Like most ladies, I love having several shoes to work with my wardrobe, but I don't just want a "collection" of pretties or fads...I want shoes that are comfortable. If I can't wear a shoe comfortably for 4+ hours (most of my shoes are 8+ hours), I don't care how pretty they are...they get returned, given away, donated or thrown away. I have no patience or desperation for going through the discomfort and/or pain to look good. Other brands I love and wear a 6.5M consistently in their boots: Frye, Rockport, Clarks, Harley Davidson (usually fit me 1/4 size larger, but comfortably), Ariat, Born/Boc, Easy Spirit, Merrell, Sorel and Timberland.Naughty Monkey is a comfortable shoe for me, and I love their fun styles. The sizing in this bootie is spot on for 6.5M. I have average sized feet (if more narrow or wide, I'd lean more toward wide, though I'm not a wide) with a high arch and narrow heel. These fit like a glove around the foot, perfect wiggle room for toes, and the insole gives some arch support. They are not too tight nor too loose (with a goldtoe, light/med weight sock), with the exception of my narrow heel and thin ankles...I do have a good little bit of room above the heel and around ankle. --This doesn't shock me for the style and cut of this bootie (and my narrow heel/thin ankles), and it doesn't cause discomfort or give off an out of proportion appearance. The suede is not a thick, rich, plush suede (on texture/feel), but the suede is thick. These are delicately "distressed"...not the obvious warn toe look. They are made in India, the craftsmanship is very nice...I love the suede detailing and stitching...the braided suede, neatly stitched suede strips and layers of fringe...and these are a beautiful and classy bootie. I think these look much prettier on and in person than the photos can depict. These are made more for slim or toned ankles and legs, IMHO.I'm not use to booties for showing off (I usually go for booties to wear under "straight/boot cut" jeans or slacks), and I usually go for more "classic" style (and not fads), but these booties should be shown...with skirts/dresses, leggings, jeggings or with cropped jeans/pants...whichever is your personal style. The 2.5" heel is also very comfortable.I would have easily paid more for these, if I had seen them in a store. If you can find these at a bargain price, don't hesitate...just go with your instinct for your usual sizing. If you like the "show off" style of bootie, also don't hesitate...these are very pretty and comfortable.I think I finally have Naughty Monkey sizing figured out. In Clark's I wear a 7.5 C/D. The second best size for me is an 8B. In Anne Klein, 8s can run a teeny bit long but 7.5s can cramp my big toe toenails. Nine West and BCBGen 8s are perfect, Timberlands too. Lucky brand 8s are usually a bit snug at first and require a few times breaking them in around the house and/or stretching a bit; Lucky rarely has half sizes in boots and 9s in Lucky Brand boots are just floppy big, so breaking in 8s is the best option for me.Now to Naughty Monkey. In NM, if the reviews say " fits as expected" between 70% and 90%, I wear an 8.5. If the reviews say "fits as expected" in the 50% to 60% range, I wear a 9!! The really cute 16.5" tall zarape boots I just returned yesterday were the 8.5; I barely got them on because they fit like a 7! If it comes down in price in a 9, I'll reorder, but as of right now the 9s are more than double the price when compared with the price of the 8.5s. Don't let the oddly tiny sizing throw you off. It's just a number, and gorgeous boots that fit are worth the stupidly mis-sized numbers. And these boots ARE gorgeous, and they do fit well in both heels and toes if you are good with a B or C width, once you get your length sizing in NM boots figured out.In this boot and the canyon dreams wedge ankle bootie, I now have 8.5s. They fit great with medium to light socks, keeping in mind that my true perfect size is a 7.5 C/D. I just returned red leather (more like cordovan or a brownish-burgundy) Clark's that were a smoking great price at $20 for 8 C/D that were very cute maryjanes, but they flopped on my foot until I tried thick wool socks which just looked asinine with maryjanes. They were a smoking great price for cute Clark's but too big is too big. So my general rule with Naughty Monkey is to go up a full size, to 8.5, period. Always, without exception, in NM boots and booties. But when the reviews say they fit really small by about 50% or more, I now know to expect to need a 9, which seems insane when I'm actually a wide 7.5! Naughty Monkey boots and booties are well worth any extra effort to figure out their sizing craziness. Really. They are.I hope this helped you!Sometimes it doesn't pay to make your purchase based on feedback. I had read that they ran small and to size up so I usually wear a 9.5 and I ordered a 10. The price of the size 10 was $63.69 which I thought was reasonable based on other website pricing that I saw. The size 10 arrived and they were loose. I put a pair of thick socks on and it made them better so I thought I would keep them but I changed my mind. I went back on Amazon to see if they had them in a 9.5 and they did and guess what the price was for the 9.5? The price was $30.30! I couldn't believe it. I've seen prices be different if you order an item in a different color but never if you order a different size. I went through all the sizes and the pricing varied from size to size. I just checked the price of the size 9.5 and it's $63.69 now and the size 10 is $38.16. I don't understand it and can't figure out how the pricing changing like that. The bottom line is I love the boot and I didn't have to size up and I got them at a dirt cheap price so I am happy!Super super cute, and high quality as well! That being said, I purchased both the indigo and the taupe at the same time, and they fit differently! The indigo was true to size, while the taupe seemed about 1/2 size smaller...meaning that I could get them on, but they were tight! Unfortunately I had to return the taupe and keep the indigo. I might buy the tan just to see if they'll run true to size or if they'll be tight. Thankfully Amazon has amazing return policies!Love the layered look of these boots. I ordered an 8 which I can even sometimes where 7.5 although I usually always order 8's. I'll just say that there's not any extra space. They fit like a glove. Which is fine for me... but if you have wider feet or if 8's are sometimes small for you, I'd order up a size. But they are worth it!The circumference around the ankle is oddly big. Regret buying itI bought these boots because they looked nice and were a different color from the norm. I am so glad that I bought them, they are comfortable, look amazing and different than most boots that I have. I do a lot of walking during the day for my job and they did not bother my feet at all, even the first time wearing them. Each boot was individually packed in a cloth pouch and in a very sturdy cool looking box. I was quite impressed by that because some of the boots that I have ordered look like they were just thrown in a shoe box and sent off. Also no gross chemical smell that you get sometimes when you order shoes or boots. Would definitely recommend buying these, I received alot of compliments on them. I am enjoying them, the fringe is a little bit on the wild side and doesn’t sit flat like in the display photograph. But otherwise a decent shoe.
